World Circle Dance Day 2026

Circle dancers from across the Central Belt of Scotland joined their friends and fellow dancers to celebrate World Circle Dance Day 2026 in a beautiful countryside location in South Lanarkshire.

A small but dedicated group of CDFA dancers from various groups came together for the 10th year in a row to participate in the annual World Circle Dance Day.

We danced with Peace in mind joining over 300 groups across the world from the USA to South America, Europe, Australia and South East Asia.

The organisers in the USA choose three dances each year for the global community to dance. This years selection were traditional dances from Romania and Greece together with a dance to an Indian mantra choreographed by Jos Galdermans from the Netherlands.

These dances were supplemented by dances from the home nations and established favourites, including ‘Halleluya for the whole world’ choreographed by Nane Kloke to Finnish music which particularly suits the theme of the day It was day of fun laughter and friendship in the knowledge that we were part of a world wide initiative.
