- Celebrating the 2026 Commonwealth games The Burrell Collection Glasgow 25th July 2026
The Circle Dancing for All (CDFA) dancers from groups across the central belt of Scotland came together in the beautiful surroundings of the Burrell Collection Glasgow for a cultural celebration of this major sporting event.
This lovely venue situated in the grounds of Pollock park, houses an amazing array of art.
The indoor courtyard is an ideal space to dance and to invite the public to join our circle, which they did, adults and children making a major contribution to the dancers enjoyment of the day.
The CDFA teachers collaborated to ensure a mixture of accessible dance styles whilst representing countries participating in the games.
Due to time constraints the programme was unable to feature all seventy four nations However the chosen dances reflected each of the continents involved, with a focus on the home nation and host of the Commonwealth Games, Scotland.
The thirty four regular dancers enjoyed the opportunity to meet and make friends with dancers outside their usual group and experience different teaching styles from the teachers presenting the dances.
The staff at the Burrell are very welcoming and enjoy hosting Circle Dance events. The feedback from them and visitors was as always very positive.
