What a great morning of Circle Dancing at the Biggar Little Festival in the lovely venue at the Gillespie Centre! This was our third year at the festival — and so far, the best attended.
It was a true family event, with participants of all ages fully embracing the joy of circle dancing.
Given the proximity to Halloween, the dances naturally took on a seasonal theme — from Romania with the Dracula Dance, to Mexico with the traditional Los Machetes, and India with a dance dedicated to Kali, the goddess of death and rebirth.
All of the dances were taught and chosen to be accessible to everyone — always remembering, in Circle Dancing, “There are no mistakes, merely variations.”
Prior to the event, four intergenerational sessions were held at Biggar Primary School, and these too were very well received.
