The circle dancers from across the Central Belt of Scotland joined their friends and
fellow dancers to celebrate World Circle Dance Day 2024
In the beautiful building that houses the Burrell Collection in Pollockshaws Glasgow
The dancers convened in the indoor courtyard joined by dancers from
across Glasgow and the central belt
Local dance teacher Jo Freeman had organised this event on
Sunday 7th July to connect with over 300 worldwide groups all
dancing the same dance on the same day.
There were two dance sessions in the Burrell and it was a delight that
members of the public young and old joined the ever-growing circle.
The chosen dance from the World Circle Dance Day organizing
committee based in the USA was 'Halleluya for the whole world' with
music from Finland this was supplemented by dances from Bosnia
Latvia Portugal Brazil and of course Scotland.
World Circle Dance Day was inaugurated in 2016 and the Carluke dancers have been involved since the very first day and are now joined by dancers from Anniesland Edinfurgh Forth Milngavie & Paisley
