Dancing in Glasgow Central Station

As circle dancers who are part of Circle Dancing for All, we are always looking to raise the profile of our style of community dance. To this end it always gives us great pleasure to dance in public venues.

The opportunity arose to mark by the 2022 Festive season by showcasing Circle Dancing in Glasgow Central Station. A programme of dances was put together featuring dances to well-known Christmas songs. A dance to Three Kings was specially choreographed to ensure that the dancers faced outwards so as to interact with the audience. 

The dancers were very well received not only by the passengers, but also the station staff. Several onlookers joined the circle and quickly picked up the steps which were all very accessible.

Obviously dancing in the famous station was a great PR opportunity, the highlight was perhaps the mention on BBC radio 2 by Ken Bruce, who wished the group good luck with their endeavours.

Great feedback has been received and details of the outing made its way into at least two local papers.
